Pre- and Post-Natal Care Services
La Esperanza collaborates with local and state health programs to provide direct services to low-income pregnant Hispanic women and their babies in Sussex County. Language, cultural, and economic barriers, as well as the lack of formal education, transportation and rural isolation tend to exacerbate the problem of unequal opportunity for good health.
We strive towards increasing their participation in health care programs to lower the risk of pre-mature and low birth weight babies. Our goal is to expand existing outreach, education, and awareness efforts among the fast growing Hispanic population to improve the pregnancy outcomes of such a vulnerable population.
