Healthy Lifestyles- La Esperanza is working closely with Nemours Health & Prevention Services to launch their 5-2-1 Almost None initiative among the parents and children that we serve.
This program encourages parents to increase their children's daily intake of fruits and vegetables (five times per day), to limit their screen time away from school to two hours; to involve them in at least one hour of physical activity, and to limit their use of sugar sweetened beverages to almost none.
One Stop Business Resource Center-La Esperanza is in the process of forming a partnership with the University of Delaware's Small Business Development Center (DSBCD) to jointly develop programs for the Hispanic community of Sussex County. Through this program we plan to provide one-on-one, free and confidential business assistance and training to the Hispanic business community in a bilingual format, as well as hands-on assistance through the regulatory process of starting and growing a business in Sussex County. Access to business publications, materials, information and Internet will also be available through this program.
